Just call me PJ....

Have you ever seen the TBS show "My Boys"? Well I don't believe that I've ever seen a complete episode but I have seen tidbits of a few. They are pretty funny. Here's what I got from watching it (and from a teeny, tiny bit of research): PJ Franklin is a tomboy sportswriter in Chicago whose best pals are a bunch of guys. I had a series of "PJ moments"--as I'm now calling them--this week.

I have a group of guy friends that live in my complex that I love hanging out with. Down-to-earth, funny guys. They absolutely act like guys in every cliché, stereotypical way--burping, talking about hot girls, cars, you know, stereotypical "man" things. It's amusing really. Wednesday I gave in and went to a basketball game with "the guys." It ended being me and 7 guys, which to be honest was totally in my favor! HA! Ten points for me. Anyways, after the game we stopped off at the grocery store so the boys could get some food, ice cream, goodies, etc. One of the guys, Matt, asked if I felt weird being the only girl. While I'm willing to bet in only other identical situation I'd respond with something like Are you joking??? How'd you feel being the only guy with 7 other girls???, I chuckled and told him I didn't feel weird at all. I have no interest in any of these guys and tend to think of them as my pals, chums, a few even like brothers.
Tonight for example, we hit up another basketball game and afterward I hit up the boys' apartment again just to hang out. They all made quesadillas and we were sitting around joking, watching sports (yes, I--like PJ--LOVE sports!), and the like. One of my pals sitting next to me was talking to one of his roommates (I think it was when I asked for my own quesadilla...it was delish!) and said, "Gabe's one of the dudes." Some girls might not appreciate that but I did and do. I'm happy being "one of the dudes." It was a fun night with "my boys."
