Cookies, books, flowers, and snow

The title captures what I've been up to.

Snow--It's been raining and SNOWING here in Provo. I HATE it. It makes me sleepy, lazy, grouchy, irritable and sad. All I want to do is set up camp on the couch, drink hot chocolate, watch movies and read books. The grass is green and the blossoms out but the weather is horrible. I can't go running, I can't even go for a walk. And it's cold. I packed away my winter stuff only to have to pull it all back out. Sad, sad day. But don't worry, it's supposed to get up into the 60s this week! AND SUNSHINE!!!!

Everything is better with sunshine.

Books--On the bright side of things I went to the Provo library and used my spiffy new library card for the first time! I had the choice between this one:

and one with frogs. CLEARLY I chose the one with frogs. [Sorry, no camera = no picture...and I couldn't find a picture online] Anyway, it was rather exciting. I love books. Did you know that? LOVE them. It was stupid of me to go an hour before close because this library is much larger than the one back home so I was overwhelmed with all the choices. I only made it to the mystery section and the children's section (big shocker...I know! But I do looooove children's books!) and even then, the hour wasn't adequate time to take it all in and make selections. I got three books and I started and finished one today. It's called "Sworn to Silence." My mom recommended it to me, which surprised me because she has a pretty weak stomach so graphic murders don't really sit well with her so when she told me she read it AND loved it, I knew I had to read it! Think NCIS and CSI and Bones all in one.

It's definitely a murder mystery thriller and not for the faint of heart. It's INTENSE. I definitely couldn't put it down...hence why I started and finished it in one day.
I also checked out "Carrot Cake Murder" by Joanna Fluke. Her books are fun to read because they include at least 12 recipes in the book because the main character owns a bakery. Food, suspense, and a mystery...my kind of book! Easy reads and pretty quick. I recommend her. And her recipes.....so good, so delish!

Flowers--I'm working at floral place as a temporary floral designer. SO fun. I LOVE flowers and creating bouquets. It can get a little tedious but I love it all the same!

Cookies--As I said before, the weather hasn't been very...uplifting. Meanwhile back home in New England it was 90 degrees today. I hate my life. WHY is it that every spring no matter where I am the weather is gross?!?! I'm cursed! Anyway, feeling a tad glum I was reading a friend's blog and she had this fabulous recipe for peanut butter chocolate chunk cookies. Hello. Peanut butter and chocolate? I'm sold thank you very much. So I read the book and made cookies. I'm stealing the picture from her blog and trust me, they are GOOD.

And that's all for now. Hooray! Bring on the sunshine and summertime!!!!

Here's hoping our warm weather comes your way! I wish I could have enjoyed the 90ยบ weather, but it only made me even puffier, so I couldn't even enjoy it the way you would have. I really hope the babes come this week so I can take walks in this gorgeous New England spring weather SOON. I am just dying to get out and about...but man, I am seriously immobile -- for anything but the daily necessities. I'm so glad you tried the cookies!! What could possibly be better than peanut butter and chocolate, eh? They are so freaking addictive too.... Oh well. ENJOY!
