sunday scribbling: progress

SO?! We are two days in to 2011 - any progress yet?

Why yes. This year I've decided I'm really going to work at being more optimistic. So, yesterday came: the day I had to leave home....

Usually I've very negative because I want to stay in New England, not go back to the west. But yesterday was progress. I think a lot of it had to do with the great day I had with my mom. We just explored the North Shore (including Whole Foods-yum!) and I soaked up every molecule I could before I left. It was great. I didn't cry when my mom dropped me off (I know, I'm 23 and sometimes I still get teary-eyed when I have to leave home. It happens.) and when I landed in Tucson I was ok. I was kind of happy to be back and now I'm excited for my roommates and friends to get back too. I think I'm going to like 2011.

I see good progress here in learning that you can gently say goodbye to home, at least for awhile, and actually look forward to returning to the place you now stay. Such transitions are hard on our hearts and I think you handled those mixed emotions nicely!
