Les Enfants

Before I dive into my post for today I thought I should just tell you my brother's girlfriend arrived today and you would have thought the Queen herself was coming to my house. We cleaned like we were having a white glove inspection. He told my mom to get his sweetheart's favorite cereal and my mom filled the candy jars and said they were off-limits until her arrival. Heath he even bought chocolates to place on his girlfriend's pillow every morning. Now if you aren't aaaaaaaaaahing right about now, something is wrong with you. It's cliche, it's cheesy, and it's SUPER cute and I wish I were dating someone like my brother right now. It's the cutest thing ever. And we all ate dinner together and the two of them would not stop smiling. AH-dorable. I was kind of nervous to meet her because I don't know what kind of a picture my brother has painted of me and that makes me nervous. Plus my hair wasn't cooperating and I felt stupid and ugly. Geez. But so far, she's cool. I'm excited to get to chat a bit more with her while she's here. And again, my brother is the cutest boyfriend ever. This gives me hope.

Now onto my post....

I'm watching 2-year old twins, a 7-year old and a 9-year old right now until Friday. Fun fact about me, I love babysitting. I like kids a lot and can't really remember the last time, if ever, that I did not enjoy babysitting. To be honest, I cannot wait to be a mom. Seriously, I'm going to have a blast with my kids. Except I totally CAN wait.

Really I just wanted to share how much I love the kids I'm watching. Note: this applies to the other kids I've babysat since I know I have watched some of the kids of some of my readers!!!
My heart has melted about 57 times though:
1. I love it when they grasp my hand, or really two of my fingers as we walk. It's even better when they both do it.
2. Listening to them giggle brings me extreme joy. Especially when they are making each other laugh and then embracing each other is a hug. It's even better when I know that I am the source of that laughter. Children's laughter definitely has to be one of the best sounds ever.
3. Watching them learn is the cutest and coolest thing ever, for example lacing shoes, put on clothes, attempting to cut their own food, buckle their own car seat, and draw. You know, the twins are 2 so they are trying to do everything themselves and if they can't they say, "You help me." It's so tender.
4. Having them say, "No Gabe, you hold me!!" so that I will pick them up.
5. Having them say, "No I want Gabe to help me."
6. Being told that one of them walked around the other day with a purse and said she was pretending to be me. Imitation is one of the most sincere forms of flattery, at least in this case.
7. Having them break out into the most genuine, brightest smiles makes me melt on the spot, instantly.

So....when the heck are you watching my boys? Seriously. When? ;-) I sometimes just sit and watch them cuz they are so much dang fun to watch interact and make each other laugh, etc. It's one of the best things I have ever experienced in my life, so I can completely understand the fun you are having with those cute girls. When I get home I want you to come play with us! Please.

aaaah, I am the luckiest mom ever to have a babysitter as wonderful as you. I didn't worry about them once because I knew they were with YOU.

And it's true: she really did say she was you and I had to say, "okay, bye, Gabe! Have a great day, we'll see you soon!" And she gave a huge smile and waved and walked out of the room:)

Also, Heath's GF is definately a lucky girl.
