So, I think I've finally made my decision about what my next step will be. It's scary but cool. I get to make the decision and I have a lot of fantastic support so that is really been helpful. Let's just hope my decision is the right one. A little over a month and I have a lot to do to prepare! And yes I will tell you, just not quite yet. I'm deathly afraid I'll say it and then it won't happen and then I'll look like a fool. Uh...no thanks. Cruel, I know.
This week I got to pretend to be a type 1 diabetic for a few days. This entailed wearing a pump, counting carbs and administering insulin (which was actually saline), and checking my blood glucose at least 6-8 times per day. It was AWESOME. I'm such a nerd and I practically begged and then giggled when the dietitian and RN said we could try it. I'm really, really, really grateful for my pancreas!!!! But seriously, my philosophy is the more I can understand what my patients are going through, the better I can help them. Spending a couple days as a diabetic was both exciting and tough. I can understand why some people get lazy and just don't do what they are supposed to. I have even more respect for diabetics. But honestly, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I know, I'm weird. Also I now what to become a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). Really, I just want to know everything about everything and should probably become a doctor. Or a physician's assistant. I'm not counting that one out, but let's not get too crazy just yet. Or culinary school. Or get my Master's. Geez I have too many interests and not enough time in this life. Or maybe I do...
And finally, Friday night some pals and I went to a Flintstone-themed dance. It was eh, ok, but that best part was my friend Clary and I went as Betty and Wilma. Pretty much one of the best ideas ever (Clary's idea). It was so fun!
P.S. I added a new song to my playlist by Miri Ben Ari ft. Styles P. Now, it's a (clean!, how rare!) rap song but the only thing I really care about is the AWESOME hip hop beat with the violin. Check it out. It's fab!
P.S.S. I may have found a replacement Dr. McSteamy and, this one is a surgeon no less. I see him at work and at the gym. AND he went to BYU for a bit too. Sahweet!

Oooh, I'm so intrigued! LOVE the Wilma thing. And think you should be whatever you want to be. :)
First of all, you DO NOT want to be a diabetic, trust me. I've seen my Grandma suffer enough from it. Second of all, I think you would make an awesome doctor. And third, your hair is gorgeous in those Wilma pictures!
