sunday scribblings: do I have to?

"Do I have to?"

Yes I do.

I have a disdain for this question because a majority of the time I pose it to myself when I really, really, REALLY don't want to do something but I know I have to.
Do I have to get out of bed...yes.
Do I have to go study....yes.
Do I have to go to work...yes.
Do I have to clean....yes.

However, if I didn't do any of the things I pose this question to, I'd live a very boring, uneventful, unfulfilled life. My life would really consist of me being incredibly lazy, sleeping all the time. Ick. I guess I'd rather choose the internal whining of "do I have to?," telling myself yes, and doing something with my life. Really, it's a twisted way of motivating myself.

Being lazy and sleeping all the time sounds pretty OK to me!

You're right... that argument with we have with ourselves everyday is the very thing that makes us productive members of society... and every once in a while, it's nice to say, "No I don't have to!" and take a day to yourself!

Oh I agree! Don't you worry! I've given into the occasional "no" and taken the day off! It usually is wonderful! :)
