"Life is short, but there is always time enough for courtesy." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Yup. I'm blogging about good old-fashioned, should-be-ingrained-in-your-being courtesy.

So much to say....so much to say....where to begin?
1. I'm not that old at all. In fact, I'm teetering between young adulthood and adulthood and that makes me quite young. Thus, I'm disgruntled when I have to speak of the "younger generations" meaning the twerps younger that me when I'm not even that old. I work with some of these ding-bats and for goodness sakes, someone teach these kids some common courtesy and respect, or is this very fundamental characteristic dying in our society along with our basic ethics and morals? Unfortunately I think it's the latter. Morons. No, you are not entitled to speak to people like you are a god because you're not. You're umpteen years old and that means you are young and stupid and naive and should listen to those above you. No, you are not entitled to everything you want, you earn it. Yes *GASP* you might actually have to work. Get used to it. You'll need it to survive when you're 5o with the way things are going now....BAH!

2. If you say you are going to do something, DO IT OR at the very least give someone a definitive answer or just keep the person in the loop so they don't wonder what the heck is going on. Confused? Allow me to elaborate. This was brought up in a conversation today and it really, really, really drives me nuts, in fact it's one of my few pet peeves that makes my skin crawl instantly, when people say they will do something and then either don't do it or don't every mention it again and leave the other person just hanging. That's just flat out rude. I have a life too you know. For example, I have a friend that mentioned the possibility of coming to visit me this summer. Great, and in their defense it was just mentioned, but we also conversed about when this person might come and I even went as far as to give them airline information and so on. I also work 2+ jobs. I can't just take a few days off when I feel like it so when I say, let me know as soon as you can and when I say I am a busy person, I'm not just pullin' your leg. I am a BUSY person. Tell me you're coming, tell me you're not coming, tell me you're still working on it, tell me something!!!!! My life does not revolve around you and I don't appreciate being left to hang here. It's rude, it's unfair, and I have other people relying on my for other things too you know, like you know, JOBS. GEEZ.

3. Say "please," "thank you," "sorry," and "excuse me." Open doors for people. THINK about other people for once. Try it! It's actually kind of fun not dwelling on yourself-honest!

Ok, I'm done.

Amen, sistah!

Also, we need to chat/catch up sometime! I'm so sad we hardly saw each other this semester, I know we were both super busy. Good thing we're on the 5-year track so we have more chances to chill. :D

Love ya, babe.

I've been on the verge of a rant myself lately...gosh, I'm sick of these kids. Really sick of them. And I'm FOUR YEARS OLDER!
