Hair today, gone tomorrow

Ok, let me begin this post just saying this: if there is one thing NOT to be messed with, it's my hair. I'm picky and protective of my locks. VERY. I'm not saying I'd necessarily give Fabio a run for his money in the hair-loving department, but I like my hair a lot. But here's what happened....
I had highlights done in August and they were the best highlights I have ever had, compliments of my cousin Lindsay. They were subtle, brought out the red in my hair and added a dash of blonde. Perfect. Time for a touch-up though! So, I went into a beauty school (let me just add Paul Mitchell in Provo is WAAAAAY better than the place I went, WAY better) and asked for: 1) SUBTLE, 2) strawberry-blonde, 3) highlights

4 hours later...this is what I got (cue sobbing)
ORANGE STRIPES. OH MY GOSH.

Worst experience ever. This picture does NOT do it justice. Seriously. The hairdresser pulled the towel off my head and I almost burst out crying because my hair was ORANGE and YELLOW. It looked like I had gotten into a fight with a bleach bucket and an orange marker. Horrible. So they told me to come back the next day and they'd fix it. But that meant I had to go to work, looking like that. MORTIFIED. So I went to work and wore a hood for a while until one of the dietitians finally came over to ask me about my hair; she overheard me telling the other interns about my hair trauma/drama. Of course the moment she opened her mouth a flock of dietitians came over to survey my color fiasco. So when I revealed it they of course reassured me it wasn't that bad at all, one of them liked it, and I burst into tears. Good times. My boss let me leave work a little early to get it fixed.

So round #2 I told them I did not want ANY orange left in my hair. And here's what I got....

Better but there is still a heck of a lot of orange in my hair. I was traumatized and really, really, really mad. Never going to that place again (Empire School). So I went out and bought hair dye to dye it back to my original color. But I have to wait a few days before I do anything because my hair is saturated and fried. Grrrr.......And here's how it looks when it's styled.

It's growing on me. I've decided to wait a few days and see how I feel about it before I dye it back. It's kind of cool actually.

What do you think??

We think that in the last two pictures (especially the second to last picture) that it looks good! Although we totally understand if you still want to dye it, because coloring in pictures can be weird regardless. That being said, we think it's a good look!

I like it actually, especially the 2nd to last picture! This kind of reminded me of that time I went w/ you to Paul Mitchell to get your haircut and waited FOREVER, but at least it turned out good. Sorry about the fiasco. Hope you're doing well Gabe!
