Christmas Is Here!

Heath is home.

This means...
...LOTS of laughter--this kid is hilarious and so fun to tease
...another buddy to bum around the house with
...I get to use his computer to skype!
...HAPPINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Nick, Heath's best friend and the kid who is practically my other brother, is back from serving his mission in Las Vegas. He looks FABULOUS and was glowing last night when we went to see him. I'm so proud. Also, my friends from college are back and this makes me blissfully happy.

And...I finished my Christmas shopping today!!! Yay!

Also I read this quote on NieNie's blog and loved it so much I'm going to share it, beautifully defined and something to aspire to:

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.
Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.

Wonderful. You put the first smile on my face today... and now it's evening, so thanks, I needed that! :)

Happy Holidays. And wonderfully written.

Followed the blog, hope you don’t mind. And who knows, maybe you’ll visit me someday too.
